urth caffe

Spring break has officially begun, and I decided to spend it wisely this year. Since I can't go anywhere (meaning Mexico..) I decided to go on a culinary adventure(?) around town with my sister.

Yesterday, we went to urth caffe (the one in downtown) because I've been hearing good things about the place. We met up with David at his apartment, and headed downtown. Despite getting lost and driving around the vicinity for about 20 minutes, we got there pretty quickly... It was surprisingly close to campus.. Maybe a 10 minute drive? (if you are not LOST like I was...)

I loved how it was tucked away in a small street, away from all the traffic and noise. It was kind of in the middle of nowhere (near skid row), in the warehouse district. You'd think a place like this would be near all the posh restaurants and bars downtown...
Nonetheless, I loved everything about this cafe -- sans the price :[

I ordered a spanish latte (strong) and a greek salad. Everything here is organic, so I felt "healthy" gobbling down my salad in 5 minutes flat.
And OH the latte....... I swear, I haven't had a latte that good since I came back from London.
I think it came in as a close second next to my favorite, Monmouth in Covent Garden.
After chowing down my salad, I had room for dessert, so we ordered the bavarian cream tart, and blueberry cheesecake. I must say, the cream tart was divine. The fruits were not only gorgeous to look at but SO fresh! Delicious!!

I'm probably coming back here to try all the other desserts.. and of course to get another dose of that yummy latte...
