Spring break is almost over, and I've only been to 3 places so far...
I guess it's a sign that maybe I should stop trying to stuff my face, and start working out.
My mom's been telling me I've been packing on some pounds... and I must say, the tightness of the pants around my waist has been getting increasingly uncomfortable......
Here is a recount of my week so far...
On Tuesday, I went to Las Brisas, located in beautiful, sunny Laguna Beach. The weather was gorgeous so we decided to grab lunch there and soak up some California sun.
I've been there once before, for the Sunday brunch buffet. The food was OKAY but it was nothing too special. I think the breathtaking view from our table made up for the lacking quality of the food.
So this time around, I tried to get something more "seafood-sy" (I mean, we're eating by the beach aren't we?)
I ordered the Playa del Sole,
(Filet of sole, layered, topped with king crab meat, spinach and avocado slices.
Served with a roasted capers-lemon butter sauce, vegetables and Mexican-style rice.)
My sis ordered the Ensalada del Puerto
(Lobster medallions, Mexican shrimp, crab, and charred
rare ahi with mixed greens, asparagus, heart of palm, orange and lime chile arbol sauce.)
and to top off my meal, I had the main beach margarita (Sauza Hornitos, Triple Sec, Grand Marnier, lime and cranberry juice.)
My dish was pretty good, but I think I liked my sister's salad much better. The dressing for the salad was delicious!
After the meal, we hung around the beach for a bit and headed home.

beautiful view from the top of the cliff where the restaurant is located
the weather was nice, but the water was still a bit too cold for me...
haha. I'm such a loner......
gorgeous day, no?
supposed to be driving....
On Wednesday, I went to get sushi with Catherine at a place called Midori in Studio City.
It was the all-you-can-eat sushi so I basically stuffed my face until I felt like I was going to rip my jeans.... NOT such a good idea...
After dinner, we were going to go to the Edison bar, but decided against it because there was a cover of $20 after 9PM.. We ended up driving around downtown for about 30 minutes trying find a bar to go to. We finally decided to go to the Library Bar which was located literally across the street from the Los Angeles Public Library (hence the name...) It was a small bar, and I liked the ambiance of the place...
I got a glass of pinot noir, watched Obama fill out the brackets, talked about post-graduation plans, lamented at our lack of a social life because of school, differentiated between men and boys, etc. etc. etc.
On Thursday, I had a veg out day. I went to get skin care in the morning, came back home and did nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Today (Friday), I went to meet Julie at Urth Caffe (yes.. I went back!). We went for lunch (around 12:30) and the place was PACKED! Thankfully, we found a place to sit out in the patio.
I got the panini caprese and the spanish latte (yes. again). Julie got the lunch combo: mushroom soup and grilled cilantro chicken breast sandwich with pesto (looong name...)

free coconut cake (?) samples which were DELICIOUS!!

All in all, it had been somewhat of an eventful(?) week... too bad spring break couldn't be a week longer...
Now all I have to do is catch up on all my piled up assignments, and get ready to go back to school.
How ironic that my lovely week has come to an end with the start of a dreadful weekend. :(
